Facebook is in the news for sometime for various issues. Starting from being accused by Multiply of stealing their design, where multiply officials saying that the user interface and new enhancements are almost same as that of Multiply which they have incorporated lately.
Then came the news of Facebook accusing StudiVZ for replicating almost the whole of Facebook; from features to services.StudiVZ claims that they are the largest and successful social networking site in Europe with 10 million active users.
Whatever be the truth Facebook remains in the news, despite of the fact that its popularity is diminishing day by day. Now they have included another feature by which users can rate the ads that appear in their pages. Well, who doesn’t knows that ads doesn’t help the users much, rather than annoying them.
Erick Schonfeld from TechCrunch reports that his had been out for around two months. Mohkim Khan had also reported this in statupmeme.com earlier.
The whole idea of Facebook asking the users to rate the ads might be to assist them to show appropriate ads in the pages and thus increasing their target audience. But its like asking someone, “I am going to annoy you, which way you like to get annoyed…..“.
Whoever there in Facebook innovated this idea should know that users are more interested in networking than clicking on ads that presumably irritate them. They should know that this in no way is helping the users or helping them to get more users.
Now that Orkut had also started displaying ads in their user profile pages, almost all the social networking sites are moving towards money making channels that making their service better….
